Peridot was in ancient times mined on the Egyptian Red Sea island of St John –Zabargad but the deposits are now exhausted now good quality peridot are found  in Sri Lanka Pakisthan and Afganistan

There is this lovely little village in Odisha (oost India) that not many years ago was forlorn and the population was destitute. The young men were dispersed thoughout India seeking wages to support their families. The traditional crafts in this village were dying out at an alarming rate. Only a few old people were propigating them.
  Step in the reginal government and tourist department. They have been premoting this little gem since the turn of the century and it appears to be paying off. Within India awareness is hightened and slowly, slowly, the  very distinctive, charactistic and colourful handpainted articles are catching on.  When you go there stock up on Gangifa cards  and get the locals to teach you how to play!!
 Both Indian and foreign tourists who visit this part of Odisha  now have it on their itinery  
Situated on a little side road from the main Puri to Bhubaneshwar road I can thoughly  reccommend a visit. 
This little gem is called Raghurajpur  and is incredible, from wood crafts to Dance everybody in this tiny gem is an artist.
 Put it on your must visit list.

Well, well, well.
Missus Abracadabra hasn't been posting for a long long time. The web shop is kind of running though,  but on a more personal leve4l there doesn't seem to be too much to post. I meditate every day I try to share the connection with one and all To be receptive you must be open.

Its January 2014 and much water has passed under the bridge.  I now have alittle shop in Amsterdam on the Bilderdijkstraat 215.  I sit in the warm and can tick away oon the computer that Niels helped me with. its wonderful and has a bamboo key board which ev erybody greatly admires. I wonder why they don't make telephones from basmboo and why my computer screen is ugly old plastic, Bamboo would be so much more pleasing to the eye and evironment.
